Shah Rukh Khan seems to be going all out to market his home production this time. The media savvy producer-actor recently held a screening of his film Billu for hairdressers and their wives.
Shah Rukh, who dropped the word Barber from the film's title, fearing protest from the community, talks about his latest marketing strategy. "We have spoken to the hairdressers' association, and informed them that we would like hairdressers and their wives to watch Billu. In the film too, hairdresser Irrfan Khan and his wife go to watch my film. We have many premieres attended by stars, but we thought this new concept would be interesting," said Shah Rukh.
Asked whether he was copying Aamir Khan's strategy for promoting Ghajini, SRK replied, "I don't think so. I don't look at what others are doing. Every film has its own essence which the filmmaker understands. We try to market the film accordingly. We don't copy each other. There are many innovative ways to market films. I will not use somebody else's strategy."
Considering Aamir got the employees of a major company to shave their heads akin to his Ghajini look, both actors will surely have some hairy tales to tell regarding their promotional strategies.
