Inspired by the Hollywood superhit, When Harry met Sally, the story is based on the relationship between these two people, who bump into each other at various points of time in life, only to part away. I couldn’t agree less when Harry said, ‘A girl and a guy can never be friends’. Hormonal imbalances??
Based on the same thought, Hum Tum set the box office on fire when it released in 2004. The film opens when Rhea(Rani) and Karan (Saif) meet each other for the first time on a flight to Amsterdam. They soon realize there’s no way they can get along with each other. But it’s not the last time they meet. They come across each other again after a few years when Rhea is getting married to her Mr. Right, Sameer (Abhishek). Karan remarks at one point of time in the movie, ‘Every two people who meet have a story of their own’. Would this be the end of their story? Would they find love in each other despite all odds?
A very cute love story with all the perfect ingredients (read funny moments, songs), a must watch for all those who enjoy dreamy romances. Saif and Rani make a very cute pair indeed. Commendable performances by Kirron Kher who plays Rhea’s mother and Jimmy Shergill, who plays Karan’s best friend.
